These 5 tracks were made for the first annual Mental Health Game Jam. This particular game jam gave us 3 weeks instead of the typical 2 or 3 days.

Our game is a 3D platformer puzzle game called "The Pit of Despair". You start at the bottom of the pit, and have to solve puzzles that include stone blocks in order to progress. The idea of the game is that we can get out of our own 'pit' with self-effort and with a bit of help from nature.

The final three tracks are variations of "Rock Bottom", with each new track adding more layers and harmonic complexity to the melody. This is supposed to symbolize a sense of hope and purpose that is gained when you reach certain checkpoints in the game. The closer you get to the top of the pit, the more triumphant the music is, and the more empowered you are to finish the game.

I wanted to add live strings and vocals to the last track, but I unfortunately got COVID in the last week of the jam. I had to settle for the VST strings, but I think it still sounds nice!
